A Season For Charity bumpersticker

My son has a good soul, a child's soul. One Christmas, I thought to take him to a soup kitchen, and we took some very brief turns helping give out food.

Years later, we were driving, talking about charity, religion, worldviews. He knew that I had done some work with the Pick Up One Piece Of Litter bumperstickers, and he suddenly said, "Dad, why don't we make a bumpersticker for charity?" Thus began this blog's idea. We printed one thousand after deciding on the wording.

At this writing, he and I are not celebrities, and cannot claim the becoming-standard saying for them, "Mr. B. is responsible for raising $800,000 dollars for cancer awareness." But here's the thing-- when Josh and I finish distributing the thousand we had printed, and they are seen by God knows how many individuals who then think a little more about giving to the charity of their choice, well... what's the math involved here?

Thus, this blog and its lone entry is a public record of the effect such a decision may have. I consider it a continuing family effort, and offer it as a strength of our personal writing's influence. Thanks Josh! The apple's still on the tree... Love, Dad
